The Ginny Martinez Scholarship was created to honor Ginny Martinez (Mrs. Reginald) for her many notable contributions to the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women, the National Federation of Republican Women, the Republican National Committee and the Louisiana Republican Party.
Mrs. Martinez was a longtime elected member of the Louisiana’s Republican Party State Central Committee. She was also an elected and a presidentially -appointed delegate to several Republican National Conventions. She served as Treasurer of at least two Republican National Party Conventions. As an Active LFRW member, she founded two local clubs and served as a club president. She held several elective and appointed positions on the LFRW’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors.The purpose of the Martinez Scholarship is to encourage and aid young women of college age and older to reach their highest potential by providing some financial assistance to aid them in the furtherance of their education. Students pursuing degrees in Government, Political Science, Pre-Law and media related subjects receive highest priority for consideration as recipients. The scholarship funds can be used to help defray tuition or other educational expenses.
